Motley Crue adds more gigs, readies cable broadcast

Seasoned rockers Motley Crue , who recently kicked off their 2006 tour schedule, have added more dates to the run.

New to the itinerary are several Canadian performances that extend the trek--which launched last week--into mid-April. Details are included below.

By tour's end, the group will have touched down in more than 40 North American cities.

Fans unable to hit one of the shows in person can take solace in a televised concert that premieres March 24 on InDemand. The performance, which was recorded during the Crue's April 27, 2005 stop in Grand Rapids, MI--will air a number of times throughout the month. A broadcast schedule is posted at the group's website.

The same concert was issued in DVD form last October, along with behind-the-scenes footage and other bonus materials.

Motley's Crue 2005 reunion tour--the first since 1999 to feature original members Nikki Sixx (bass), Mick Mars (guitar), Tommy Lee (drums) and Vince Neil (vocals)--was one of the surprise successes of the year. The group played over 100 arena dates in the U.S.

Before launching the tour, the Crue issued "Red, White & Crue," a two-disc best-of set that features 37 tracks, including three new songs: "If I Die Tomorrow," "Sick Love Song" and a cover of The Rolling Stones' "Street Fighting Man." The album sold more than 90,000 copies during its first week in stores, and debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 album chart

Following the conclusion of its current tour, the Crue plans to head back into the recording studio. Sixx recently told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer that he has "45 ideas for songs, Mick's probably got somewhere between 40 and 100 riffs [and] Tommy's got a ton of ideas."
