Brooks & Dunn, Martina, Brad Paisley set for CMA Music Fest
This year's CMA Music Festival --set for June 8-11 in downtown Nashville--marks the event's 35th anniversary, a milestone that will be celebrated with performances by Brooks and Dunn, Terri Clark , Billy Currington , Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley and a host of others.
Additional acts on the bill so far include Trace Adkins, Miranda Lambert, LeAnn Rimes, Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood, with many more to be announced, according to the Country Music Association.
More than 145,000 fans are expected to attend this year's CMA Music Festival , which will feature 30 hours of autograph signings, 70 hours of live music, and 400 country music artists and celebrities.
The largest events will take place at The Coliseum, the stadium that is home to the NFL's Tennessee Titans, and local clubs will host late-night concerts.
Besides the nightly concerts, fans will see music on the Greased Lightning Daytime Stages, which will feature country and bluegrass artists performing on dual stages, and the Acoustic Corner at the Nashville Convention Center, which is also the site of the Wrangler Fan Fair, where daily autograph sessions and shopping will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
CMA donates half the net proceeds from the event to charities designated by the participating artists as part of CMA's "Cause for Celebration" program. In 2005, 247 artists selected 114 charities as beneficiaries of the annual program. On behalf of the artists, CMA has donated more than $800,000, including an additional $200,000 in 2005 to aid hurricane victims, according to a CMA press release.
Four-day CMA Music Festival ticket packages, divided into four categories based on the level of reserved seating at The Coliseum, are now on the market. According to organizers, Fan Fair's Gold Circle and Floor Level ticket packages are already sold out. Lower Level tickets are $135, or $95 for those ages 14 and younger; Club Level is $125 and $86. Children ages 3 and younger are admitted free.
Four-day ticket packages include nightly concerts at The Coliseum; daily concerts at the Greased Lightning Daytime Stages; daily admittance to the Wrangler Fan Fair featuring the Acoustic Corner; Family Zone; Crisco Country Favorites Corner; Fun Zone; Sports Zone; CMA Music Festival After Hours; free in-town shuttles; the CMA Music Festival Program Book; CMA Music Festival pin; special discounts to area attractions, restaurants, shops and more.
