Sheryl Crow fills blanks in tour schedule
Sheryl Crow has mapped the remaining stops on her upcoming late-winter/early spring tour, and has tapped country singer Jack Ingram to hold down the opening slot.
Crow's itinerary, which gets underway at the end of February, now stretches through the end of March, and includes new stops in the Midwest and Canada. Tickets for a number of shows are on sale now, while those for many others are scheduled to hit the box office during the next few weekends. Details are included below.
According to Crow's website, the newly announced shows are her "final spring tour dates."
Backing Crow on stage during the outing will be her regular band--guitarists Tim Smith and Peter Stroud, drummer Shawn Pelton, and keyboardist Mike Rowe--as well as a string quartet.
Last month, Crow played a series of shows with her band and the 12-piece David Campbell String Section.
"Wildflower," Crow's follow-up to 2002's "C'mon C'mon," features the cut "Always on Your Side." She recently re-recorded the track as a duet with fellow singer/songwriter Sting, and plans to make the new version available as a digital single, according to her website. A release date hasn't been announced.
Crow has sold a worldwide total of about 25 million records, according to her label. That tally comprises sales of her previous four studio albums, as well as her 2003 greatest-hits collection.
Ingram is backing last month's "Live Wherever You Are," a live recording that also features some new studio cuts, to include the album's title track.
