Kelly Clarkson, Whitney Houston, others tapped for Olympic shows
Kelly Clarkson , Whitney Houston , Avril Lavigne , Ricky Martin , Andrea Bocelli and Jamiroquai are among the artists who will take turns giving nightly performances in Italy during the upcoming Winter Olympics.
Scheduled to take place every night from Feb. 11 through Feb. 25, the concert series will also feature Duran Duran, Anastacia, Lou Reed, Ennio Morricone, Gianni Morandi, Paolo Conte, Nek, Max Pezzali and Riccardo Cocciante. The list of performers and their respective concert dates is included below.
The shows are set to take place at the Olympic Village's Medals Plaza in Turin, Italy, following each night's awards ceremony, according to promoter Milano Concerti. The plaza is set within Piazza Castello, which is described in a press release as the historic center of Turin.
The ceremonies and nightly concerts will take place on a rotating stage covered with 16 tons of mirrored steel panels that will also feature a 300-square-meter screen, according to a press release.
