Sheryl Crow spreads 'Wildflower' on late-winter tour
Armed with a mix of hits and new material from her latest album, last year's "Wildflower," singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow will soon launch a new round of US tour dates.
Crow's schedule kicks off at the end of this month in Austin, TX, and subsequent shows are lined up through late March. In addition to the US performances, the schedule also includes a lone Canadian stop.
Tickets for about half of the run are on sale now, while those for the remaining dates are due to hit the box office during the next two weekends. Details are included in the itinerary shown below.
Backing Crow on stage during the outing will be her regular band--guitarists Tim Smith and Peter Stroud, drummer Shawn Pelton, and keyboardist Mike Rowe--as well as a "streamlined string quartet," according to Crow's website.
Last month, Crow played a series of shows with her band and the 12-piece David Campbell String Section.
"Wildflower," Crow's follow-up to 2002's "C'mon C'mon," is vying for a Grammy in this year's Best Pop Vocal Album category, and features the cut "Good is Good," which is up for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
A nine-time Grammy winner, Crow is also in contention for the Best Country Collaboration with Vocals trophy for "Building Bridges," a song from country duo Brooks & Dunn's "Hillbilly Deluxe" that also features Vince Gill.
The 48th annual Grammy Awards ceremony will take place Wednesday (2/8) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and will air live on CBS-TV.
The day after the ceremony, Crow will be on hand for the Feb. 9 taping of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The syndicated program is scheduled to air on Feb. 13, according to Crow's website.
