Belle & Sebastian return to North America behind new album
Scottish indie-popsters Belle & Sebastian are set to head back to North America--a continent they don't visit very often--to promote their upcoming album, "The Life Pursuit."
The eight-piece group is set to undertake a tour of the UK in late January, then heads to North America for a string of concerts that begin with a Feb. 25 show in Toronto. The New Pornographers will support the band on all of its upcoming North American appearances, with the exception of a March 15 showcase atthe South by Southwest music festival in Austin, TX, and a March 24 performance in Vancouver.
Tickets for most shows are currently available, with the exception of the following sold-out dates: March 3 at New York's Nokia Theatre (tickets for theMarch 2 show at the same venue are still available), and both dates in Washington, DC (March 5-6.)
"The Life Pursuit," Belle & Sebastian's seventh studio album, is due to hit stores Feb. 7. The group recorded the set in Los Angeles last year with producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, Supergrass) manning the controls. Thealbum's first single, "Funny Little Frog," was released Jan. 16.
The New Pornographers recently toured the U.S. in support of their 2005 album "Twin Cinema."
