The Rolling Stones [ tickets ], the top earners on the 2005 concert circuit, launch their first batch of 2006 shows next week, and the itinerary now includes a new stop in Atlanta.

The show is set for Feb. 8, and is only the second show the group has booked for the month of February. Tickets for the new date are scheduled to hit the box office Jan. 9, one day before the Stones kick off the New Year with a performance in Montreal. The full itinerary is included below.

Members of the band's fanclub have an early shot at tickets for the Atlanta gig via an online presale. Details are posted at the Stones' website.

The Feb. 8 show marks the band's second visit to Atlanta during its current "A Bigger Bang" world tour, which kicked off last September and touched down in Atlanta in mid-October.

An opening act for the new Atlanta concert hasn't been announced. As previously reported, Anik Jean, Sloan, Metric, Antigone Rising, Soulive, Books & Dunn, Queens of the Stone Age, Merle Haggard and The Meters will all rotate through the opening slot during the other upcoming shows, as noted below.

The Stones are touring behind their latest album, last year's "A Bigger Bang," which recently received a nomination for this year's Best Rock Album Grammy award. The latest albums from Coldplay, Foo Fighters, U2 and Neil Young are also in contention. The Stones will be on stage in Atlanta when the awards are handed out during the Feb. 8 ceremony at Los Angeles' Staples Center, which will air live on CBS.

The 2005 edition of the Stones' "A Bigger Bang" tour was the year's top-grossing outing, according to industry trade Pollstar. The group pulled down $162 million over the course of only 42 shows thanks to an average ticket price of about $134.
