Brandi Carlile prepares for late-winter tour
Singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile will hit the road for a month's worth of dates beginning in mid-January as she continues to support her self-titled debut CD.
The 23-year-old Washington State native will launch her outing in the Pacific Northwest, with a Jan. 19 appearance in Eugene, OR, followed by four California dates, before moving into the Southwest and Southeast, hitting mainly small clubs along the way.
Tickets are currently on sale for selected shows, which will eventually touch all the geographic bases of the U.S. before Carlile winds up her busy month March 19 in Minneapolis, MN.
Carlile's debut album, hit stores in July. She was helped out on the disc by her main collaborators, twin brothers Tim (guitar) and Phil Hanseroth (bass,) both members of Carlile's touring band. John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, Blonde Redhead) handled production duties for the album, which was recorded during 2004, partially at Carlile's home in Maple Valley, WA.
"I live in a log cabin and the ceilings are really high, so it sounds great," she said in her online bio. "We rented a Pro-tools set-up and put it smack in the middle of my living room.
"We just went in and played the songs. It interrupted my whole world for weeks, but we made some really good music."
