Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters Expand Itinerary
Even before it gets started, the Red Hot Chili Peppers/Foo Fighters tour--which opens Friday (3/24) in Minneapolis--has been extended. Nearly two dozen new dates have been tacked onto the itinerary, which now includes stops in several major market arenas and amphitheaters.
MTV has announced that tickets for the new dates, which run between June 2 and July 17, will initially be sold online exclusively via its website between March 28 and March 31. Tickets go on sale through traditional outlets on April 1.
The bands previously announced that they would be touring the college arena circuit together through mid-May. Several of those dates--including Madison, Wis., Columbus, Ohio, Iowa City, Iowa, and New Orleans--have already sold out.
The Foo Fighters, who are supporting the platinum album "There Is Nothing Left to Lose," are scheduled to warm up for the tour opener with an autograph signing and acoustic performance today (3/23) at the Best Buy store in Richfield, MN. The Foos are also scheduled to make an April 4 appearance on NBC-TV's ''Late Night with Conan O'Brien.''
