Anti-Flag to lead five-band punk contingent next spring
Punk rockers Anti-Flag have announced dates for a month-long tour beginning in March, with support at all shows by The Casualties , The Unseen , Smoke or Fire and The AKAs.
The Pittsburgh-bred "peace punks" will launch their aural assault March 14 in Englewood, CO, the first engagement of the tour's 20-city slate. The five-act circus will head first for the West Coast, then do an abrupt roundabout before ending up on the other side of the country.
Tickets are already on sale in many markets. Pre-sale tickets for selected shows are also available through Anti-Flag's website.
Anti-Flag recently announced on its website that a new studio album was in the works for 2006. The group's most recent album, "Terror State," was released in 2003, and two of the band's older albums, 2002's "Mobilize" and 1999's "A New Kind of Army," were re-released in 2004.
The politically active group recently donated an unreleased acoustic song to an anti-war website. The song "Welcome to 1984" was written and recorded after the end of the "Rock Against Bush" tour in October 2004, according the band's website, and can be downloaded for free at the worldcantwait.org website.
The Casualties' most recent album was 2004's "On the Front Line." The New Yorkers are currently working on a new studio album for release in 2006.
Boston punk quintet The Unseen released its fifth studio album earlier this year. "State of Discontent" hit stores in May.
