Motion City Soundtrack leads multi-act 2006 trek
Indie rockers Motion City Soundtrack have announced dates for a winter/spring headlining tour, with support on the tour's initial leg from OK Go , The Spill Canvas and Plain White T's .
The outing kicks off with a Feb. 16 show in Milwaukee, then zigzags its way to the West Coast and back east again during March and early April.
Motion City Soundtrack released its second full-length album, "Commit This to Memory," in June, with Blink-182's Mark Hoppus taking the production duties. The album follows 2003's "I Am the Movie," the Minneapolis-bred quintet's debut. That set was a revamping of an earlier, self-released version of the same album, which the group recorded before signing with Epitaph Records.
"I think I tried to be as honest as possible on this record," singer/guitarist Justin Pierre said in the band's online bio of recording the new album. "I was less inhibited on this one from hiding. In the last two years this was what was going on."
The Spill Canvas released its second studio album, the double-CD "One Fell Swoop," in August. The South Dakota-based band recently completed a tour supporting Copeland.
OK Go's latest album, "Oh No," hit stores in August. The band recently completed its own headlining tour.
Taking over the support slots on March 14 will be The Format, The Matches and Men Women & Children. Details are in the itinerary below.
Pre-sale tickets for most of the tour are available via Motion City Soundtrack's website.
