Los Lobos to finish off 'Kiko' trek, go acoustic
The East Los Angeles roots-rockers, who recently marked their 30th anniversary, have added a Jan. 6 "Kiko" performance in San Diego, as well as several acoustic shows, and announced plans to appear at several music festivals later in 2006.
The band will perform "Kiko"--widely regarded as the group's masterpiece--in five cities, San Diego included, starting Dec. 16 with a two-night stand at San Francisco's Fillmore.
In late January the group will travel to Texas for three "Unplugged"-style acoustic shows, kicking off Jan. 19 in Austin, TX.
Los Lobos' first live CD, "Live at the Fillmore," was released earlier this year. It followed on the heels of a 2004 DVD release from the same performance.
The band's most recent studio album, "The Ride," was released in 2004. A new Los Lobos studio album is in the works for 2006, but the release date is still unknown.
