Lifehouse plays holiday shows, books headlining tour

Pop/rock trio Lifehouse will close out the year with a series of performances at holiday-themed radio-station festivals, and will then start off the New Year with a headlining club tour.

The group has a half-dozen holiday festivals on its schedule, concluding with a Dec. 15 set in Buffalo. A month-long break follows before the group launches a full-fledged tour Jan. 15 in San Diego. Dates so far stretch into early February. Details are included below.

Lifehouse continues to back its third album, a self-titled set that surfaced in March. The disc went gold in October, marking U.S. shipment of a half-million copies. Helping to fuel sales of "Lifehouse" is the chart-topping hit "You and Me," as well as follow-up cut "Blind." Music videos for both songs are streaming at Lifehouse's website.

Last month, "You and Me" picked up a Song of the Year nomination for this year's Radio Music Awards. Nominations are based on the amount of radio airplay as determined by Mediabase, a company that tracks airplay, according to a statement posted at Lifehouse's website. The 400-member Radio Music Academy, which is comprised of radio programmers and music directors, will choose the winners, who will be named during a Dec. 19 ceremony scheduled to air live on NBC.

"Lifehouse" is the follow-up to 2002's "Stanley Climbfall." The group--singer/guitarist Jason Wade, drummer Rick Woolstenhulme and bassist/singer Bryce Soderberg--recorded the new set with with producer John Alagia (John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band) at his home studio in Easton, MD, on Chesapeake Bay.
