Taste of Chaos returns with new lineup, expanded itinerary
The organizers of the Taste of Chaos tour have announced an itinerary for next year's edition of the winter rock festival, with a lineup set to include Deftones , Thrice , Atreyu and others.
The tour will kick off Feb. 16 in San Diego, with a total of 46 cities included on the current schedule. This year's inaugural Taste of Chaos tour played to crowds in 37 cities across the U.S. and Canada before launching an international run that included stops in Europe, Australia and Japan.
Although the event's website advises that the lineup of acts is subject to change and "will vary from city to city," a partial, preliminary list of performers, in addition to those named above, includes Story of the Year , Thursday, As I Lay Dying, Dredg and Silverstein.
The Taste of Chaos tour is produced by Kevin Lyman, who also founded the annual summer Warped Tour festival. Lyman conceived Taste of Chaos as a winter counterpart to the popular warm-weather outing.
"Our goal is to give fans a six hour arena show with a multimedia experience of live music and activities for under 30 bucks," Lyman said in a press release.
Rockstar Energy Drink has signed on as the tour's title sponsor, and FUSE Television, MySpace.com, Alternative Press and Revolver have been announced as media partners. Other sponsors include Nintendo, Best Buy and Hot Topic, all of whom plan to feature an interactive element at each of the tour's stops.
A live DVD featuring performances from last year's Taste of Chaos tour was released in September and is available through the event's website.
