Dwight Yoakam adds new dates to long-running tour
Country singer Dwight Yoakam has added even more dates to a tour without seeming end as he continues to support his most recent album, "Blame the Vain."
Yoakam's latest batch of dates includes a few December appearances, kicking off Dec. 2 with a two-night stand at the Mirage in Las Vegas, and will keep the entertainer busy for most of February.
The singer's February schedule consists mainly of a trek through Western Canada, starting with a Feb. 15 show in Richmond, British Columbia.
"Blame the Vain" is Yoakam's first for indie label New West, and marks the first time that he self-produced an album without the aid of a co-producer. Yoakam assembled a new band for the effort, led by guitarist Keith Gattis.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Yoakam--who splits his time between music and acting--has starring roles in two films scheduled for release in the coming months: "Bandidas," with Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek; and "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada," directed by and starring Tommy Lee Jones. He also had a cameo in last summer's hit comedy "The Wedding Crashers."
