The Academy Is ... continues tour, plots new one
The Chicago-based band will play a newly added show Tuesday (11/29) in Albuquerque, and then continue on the road for a stretch of concerts with Rooney and All-American Rejects .
Additionally, the band has just announced dates for an early 2006 trek with Panic! at the Disco, Acceptance and Hellogoodbye. The "Truck Stops and State Lines" tour will kick off Feb. 1 in Grand Rapids, MI, and run through late March. Presale tickets for all the newly announced dates are available at the band's website.
The Academy Is ...'s debut album, "Almost Here," hit stores in February. The group recorded the set in Florida after frontman William Beckett and guitarist Mike Carden spent six months holed up in a Chicago apartment together writing songs, according to the band's bio.
"We aren't quite 'here' yet," Beckett said in the bio, explaining the album's title. "We are too young to be content and to have everything figured out. It's all about pushing each other and each other's boundaries. There is always more to accomplish."
