Briefly: Velvet Revolver, Dick Clark, Hilary Duff, LeAnn Rimes, Gary Glitter
Velvet Revolver is booked to play a New Year's Eve club gig at Sayreville, NJ's Starland Ballroom.
General admission tickets are priced at $100 each, and are on sale now, according to the venue's website.
Dick Clark , who suffered a stroke in early December and missed hosting last year's edition of ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve," plans to return to New York's Times Square this year to co-host the telecast with Ryan Seacrest.
Hilary Duff will perform three songs during the program, and will also handle segments from Hollywood. Other performers haven't been announced.
LeAnn Rimes is scheduled to perform a free lunchtime concert Wednesday (11/30) at New York's Greeley Square, located at 33rd Street and Broadway.
The event--which will also include free gift wrapping and photo opportunities with Santa Claus--is part of the promotional push for MasterCard's "Home for the Holidays" sweepstakes.
British rocker Gary Glitter , 61, will be detained in Vietnam for up to three months as investigators look into allegations that he had sex with underaged girls, prosecutors announced last week. Though he so far hasn't been charged with a crime, Glitter reportedly was detained Nov. 19 at Ho Chi Minh City's international airport while attempting to catch a flight out of the country.
