Brad Paisley rustles up 2006 tour dates
Paisley, who has about a dozen shows left on his 2005 tour schedule, will spend most of January performing at a mix of U.S. and Canadian venues. His itinerary, which is included below, also features a handful of confirmed shows on the summer fair circuit.
Sara Evans and Sugarland are holding down the opening slots during the remainder of Paisley's 2005 outing, and Terri Clark will take over for the January shows.
Paisley is on the road behind his latest album "Time Well Wasted." Released in August, the disc sold about 193,000 copies during its first week in stores, marking the most albums Paisley has ever sold during a one-week period. The strong first-week performance landed the album in the top slot on Billboard's Country Albums chart, and at No. 2 on The Billboard 200.
Paisley recorded "Time Well Wasted" in Nashville with producer Frank Rogers. The set follows 2003's "Mud on the Tires."
Earlier this week, Paisley performed at the 39th annual Country Music Association Awards ceremony in New York City. Despite racking up six nominations heading into the event, the singer went home empty handed. Songwriters "Whisperin'" Bill Anderson and Jon Randall did, however, pick up the Song of the Year Award for the "Mud on the Tires" cut "Whiskey Lullaby," a duet featuring Paisley and Alison Krauss.
