Gretchen Wilson leads a 'Redneck Revolution' in 2006
Gretchen Wilson , who is currently working the road with fellow country act Big & Rich , launches an ambitious headlining run next year dubbed "The Redneck Revolution Tour."
Wilson plans to kick things off Jan. 18 in Grand Prairie, TX, and is so far booked to play arenas throughout the U.S. until the end of April. Her current outing with Big & Rich ends in mid-December, after which she's scheduled to play a couple of December headlining shows. Details are included below.
The roadwork supports Wilson's sophomore effort, "All Jacked Up," which hit stores in late September and sold more than 264,000 copies during its first week out. That number earned the set a No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 and Billboard's Country Album charts.
Wilson produced "All Jacked Up" with Big & Rich's John Rich and Sony Nashville exec Mark Wright. The disc features 12 songs, seven of which Wilson either wrote or co-wrote.
Wilson's 2004 debut, "Here for the Party," has sold more than 4 million copies, according to her website.
Earlier this week, Wilson was crowned Female Vocalist of the Year during the 39th annual CMA Awards ceremony in New York City. The honor follows her 2004 win for the CMA Horizon Award, and makes her the first solo female artist to score both trophies during consecutive years, according to the Country Music Association.
