Dave Matthews Stadium Show To Feature Alanis Morissette, West Coast Dates Announced

Alanis Morissette will return to the US after her Japanese, Canadian and European tours to open for the Dave Matthews Band as his tour hits Denver, CO's Mile High Stadium on July 20th. The show, also featuring local heroes Big Head Todd & The Monsters, will go on sale April 17th, alongside several West Coast dates announced by the band this weekend.

The Dave Matthews Band tour, scheduled to begin May 1st in Tampa, FL, has quickly swelled to nearly 50 shows in the course of several weeks of ticket sales. Last year's Dave Matthews Band tours experienced extremely strong ticket demand, a fact acknowledged by the existence of stadium dates in several markets for this year's spring / summer run.

Prior to the Mile High Stadium announcement, the band had set multi-act stadium shows in place for Philadelphia, East Rutherford, NJ and Boston. On those dates, Santana and The Roots will fill out the bill, a factor in the addition of second shows in each of those three markets and a third show in Philadelphia. Alanis Morissette and Big Head Todd & The Monsters will take part on the band's just-announced Mile High Stadium show, according to a news update issued by the band's official web site.

The only major concert market not represented on the current itinerary is Los Angeles, though plenty of room exists in the West Coast leg for the band to work in either a stadium stop or a traditional amphitheatre booking.

Here's the latest itinerary for the Dave Matthews Band.
