Marc Broussard books headlining shows, opens for Bonnie Raitt
Before taking over the opening slot on Bonnie Raitt's current tour, singer/songwriter Marc Broussard will tackle a newly announced headlining jaunt of his own.
Broussard kicks off the month-long run Oct. 26 in his home state of Louisiana, and will subsequently hit clubs and theaters throughout the South, Midwest and East Coast. He'll then team up with Raitt in late November. Details are shown below.
Also ahead for Broussard is a January stint aboard "The Rock Boat Cruise," a five-day excursion that will feature 30 artists, including Sister Hazel, Blue Merle, Better Than Ezra, Martin Sexton and more. More information about the event is available at the cruise's website.
Broussard continues to back his August 2004 album, "Carencro," which takes its name from his hometown. The set follows his 2002 debut, an EP titled "Momentary Setback."
On Tuesday (10/25), the Gulf Coast native will issue "Bootleg to Benefit the Victims of Hurricane Katrina." All proceeds above and beyond production costs will be donated to Broussard's Momentary Setback Fund, a charitable trust the singer recently formed to help benefit Katrina victims. Additional information is available at Broussard's website.
