Oh, the 'Horror': Mudvayne hits the road
Mudvayne will lay claim to the title of "Masters of Horror" during a North American tour that opens in mid-November.
The first batch of dates announced on the Masters of Horror Tour 2005 finds the metal act performing mainly in the Midwest. The trek is currently set to kick off Nov. 18 at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines, IA, and finish up Dec. 14 at the House of Blues in Orlando.
More gigs are expected to be announced shortly, including shows in Detroit; Binghamton, NY; Atlantic City, NJ; Providence, RI; Sayreville, NJ; Columbus, OH; Wichita, KS; Kansas City, MO; Atlanta; Miami; San Antonio, TX; Dallas; and Oklahoma City, OK.
Having spent the summer performing as a support act on Ozzfest, Mudvayne will be joined this fall tour by its own cast of openers: Sevendust , 10 Years and Bobaflex . The full tour itinerary is listed below.
Mudvayne--vocalist Chad Gray, guitarist Greg Tribbett, bassist Ryan Martinie and drummer Matt McDonough—-is touring in support of the CD "Lost and Found." The disc moved some 152,000 in its first week of release in April, which is nearly double what the band's previous album, 2002's "The End of All Things to Come," earned in its first week.
"Lost and Found" has already produced two hit singles, "Happy?" and "Forget to Remember." The latter is also the first single from the "Saw II" soundtrack, and its companion music video was shot by the film's director, Darren Bousman.
Further strengthening its bond with scary movie fans, Mudvayne has contributed the previously unreleased track "Small Silhouette" to the "Masters of Horror" soundtrack, the companion album to Showtime's TV anthology. The "Masters of Horror" disc features 30 new tracks from artists such as Shadows Fall and Buckethead with Serj Tankian. The series premieres Oct. 28 and features 13 one-hour mini-movies from acclaimed horror directors such as John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper and John Landis.
