Briefly: Garth Brooks, Jamie Foxx, Disturbed, CMA Awards
Garth Brooks , who has been more publicly visible this year than at any time since announcing his "retirement" in 2000, will perform during the Grand Ole Opry's 80th birthday celebration, which airs Saturday (10/22) on the Great American Country cable network.
According to a statement issued by the Opry, Brooks "remains retired from performing, but is participating in the 80th Celebration to pay tribute to the Opry and its heritage."
Jamie Foxx --best known as an actor and comedian--is wrapping up work on "Unpredictable," his debut album for J Records, according to the label.
The set's first single is the title track, a Harold Lilly-penned song that features rapper Ludacris and was produced by Unusual Suspects.
Other artists who guest on the album include Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Pharrell Williams and Twista.
Disturbed called off the final seven shows of its European tour after doctors advised frontman David Draiman to rest his voice. The group is scheduled to headline the Jagermeister Music tour, which kicks off in November.
