NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" has tapped legendary rocker Neil Young for a weeklong residency as the show's musical guest.

Young will be on hand for the program's Nov. 1-4 episodes, which air at 12:35 p.m. ET.

"I wanted two solid months of Neil Young, but he told me it was, quote, 'getting creepy,'" O'Brien said in a statement.

Island Def Jam Music Group has set a Nov. 15 release date for a special edition of Mariah Carey 's latest album, "The Emancipation of Mimi." Titled "The Emancipation of Mimi: Platinum Edition," the expanded set will include four bonus cuts not featured on the original release, and will also be available in a limited-edition, two-disc version that will include a DVD containing four music videos.

"The Emancipation of Mimi" first surfaced in April, and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. The set has gone on to sell more than 4 million copies in the U.S., and 6 million worldwide, according to Carey's label.

Fans of the Steve Perry version of classic-rock outfit Journey can look forward to the Nov. 15 release of "Live in Houston 1981 - Escape Tour." Originally broadcast by a fledgling MTV in October of 1981, the concert will be available in DVD and CD formats. The CD will contain the bonus track "The Party's Over (Hopelessly in Love)," which was not filmed, while the DVD will include interviews with the band and a slideshow of rare photos.

Perry, who left the group in 1998, produced the entire project "with the full cooperation of the band," according to a press release.

Action star Steven Seagal plans to record a blues album with the help of an all-star roster of artists from the genre, to include Iverson "Louisiana Red" Minter, Ruth Brown, Bo Diddley, James Cotton, Willie "Pine Top" Perkins, Willie Smith, Calvin Jones, Bob Margolin, Hubert Sumlin, Koko Taylor, Tom Brill, "Big" George Brock, David "Honeyboy Edwards," Robert Lockwood, Jr., "Homesick James" William Henderson and Henry Townsend.

"As a devoted musician and student of the blues, I wanted to document the important contribution each of these amazing artists has made to our musical heritage," Seagal, who is producing the project, said in a statement. "I regret that many of the great blues icons are no longer with us, but have no doubt that their spirit will continue to inspire all of us for generations to come."

Seagal will record the as-yet-untitled album in Memphis, and it is expected to hit stores during the first half of 2006, according to a press release. "Songs from the Crystal Cave," Seagal's musical debut--already released in France, where it topped the charts--will surface in the U.S. during the latter half of 2006.
