Phish's Initial 2000 Tour Stops Include Radio City, Amphitheaters
Free-form rockers Phish have announced their initial touring plans for 2000, which include a two-night stand in May at New York's Radio City Music Hall, as well as a month-long amphitheater leg that will focus on satiating fans in the eastern United States. The band has also announced that its latest studio album, titled "Farmhouse," will be released on May 16.
Phish's outdoor schedule opens June 22 near Nashville. It includes Atlanta, Raleigh, N.C., Holmdel, N.J., Camden, N.J., Toronto, Burgettstown, Pa., East Troy, Wis., Noblesville, Ind., and Columbus, Ohio.
The itinerary also shows a two-night stand in Hartford, Conn., where a 1999 Phish appearance resulted in multiple arrests outside the Hartford Civic Center on charges such as inciting to riot and interfering with police. It was the third time in four months that Hartford police clashed with a concert crowd.
The Radio City Music Hall concerts will be the jam band's first since it played to a crowd of about 80,000 people at Florida's Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation during a two-day New Year's Eve concert/campout.
Tickets for the band's Radio City Music Hall appearances are tentatively set to go on sale April 22, according to the band's official website. Tickets for the band's amphitheater swing are scheduled to go on sale in some markets on May 13.
Phish also sells tickets to its shows through a tickets-by-mail program. Details about the program will be posted on the band's website by March 4, according to the band's Monday (2/28) announcement.
