Jeff Tweedy sets out on his own for November shows
Ever-busy Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy will set off in early November for a short run of solo shows, after his main band finishes up its current stretch, including an Oct. 15 gig in support of The Rolling Stones.
The singer/guitarist will hit the stage Nov. 5 in Madison, WI, launching a two-week jaunt that will take him to 10 cities, including a two-day stand at New York's Tribeca Performing Arts Center, as part of the Wall Street Rising Concert Series.
Pre-sale tickets for selected cities will be made available starting Wednesday (9/28) on Wilco's website.
"A Ghost is Born," Wilco's latest album, hit stores in June of 2004. The band co-produced the set with Jim O'Rourke, who engineered the group's previous release, 2002's gold-certified "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot."
Wilco's first live album, "Kicking Television--Live in Chicago," is due in stores Nov. 1. The two-CD set was recorded over four nights in May at the Vic Theatre.
Following his U.S. run, Tweedy is scheduled to play a Nov. 22 show in London.
