Eagles plot more California shows
The Eagles have added more dates to an ongoing tour schedule that focuses almost exclusively on California.
The veteran rock group has booked new November stops in Los Angeles, Anaheim and Sacramento, as well as a three consecutive shows in Honolulu, the last of which takes place Dec. 2 and will likely cap the run.
The new Los Angeles date brings to six the total number of times that the Eagles will have played that city during their current road trip, which launched in August. Last week, the group wrapped up a three-night stand in the city, and are scheduled to perform there again twice in October.
Meanwhile, Anaheim--where the group played a three-night stint earlier this month--is now slated to host the group a total of five times. The band resumes its tour in that city on Oct. 7. Details are included below.
Tickets for most shows are on sale now, and the Eagles are also offering VIP packages via ILoveAllAccess.com, a premium-ticket service that was rolled out last year. More information is posted at ILoveAllAccess.com.
In June, the Eagles dropped a DVD titled "Farewell 1 Tour - Live from Melbourne," which captures the group's 2004 performance in Melbourne, Australia. The two-disc set--which, in addition to live footage, also includes band-member interviews--sits at No. 2 on Billboard's latest Top Music Video chart. Now in its 14th week of release, the DVD topped that same chart for 10 weeks straight.
Earlier this year, the Eagles issued "Eagles Box," a limited-edition box set that includes all seven albums that the group released between 1972 and 1980. Also included is a bonus CD-single featuring the tracks "Please Come Home for Christmas" and "Funky New Year."
The Eagles' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975," which has sold over 28 million copies, is the top-selling album of all time in the U.S. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
