Pearl Jam Announces European Tour
Pearl Jam has announced plans for a six-week European tour in support of the band's as-yet-untitled seventh album. The band's first extended tour of the continent since 1996 will take the Seattle rockers to 26 cities in 18 countries.
The tour in opens in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 23, and will wrap in Belgium on July 2, according to a statement issued today (2/15) by Pearl Jam's publicist.
The band's itinerary includes a mix of headlining dates and festival appearances. Festival gigs include Holland's Pink Pop, Germany's Rock-am-Ring and Rock-am-Park, and Roskilde in Belgium.
U.S. tour dates and information regarding the release of Pearl Jam's new album will be announced "soon," according to the band's publicist.
The band began work on the new album last year with producer Tchad Blake (Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos). A May or June release date is widely expected.
