Dave Matthews, Elton John, more on board for Katrina benefit

Dave Matthews , Lenny Kravitz , Elton John , Simon & Garfunkel and Jimmy Buffett are among the artists who will perform at a Sept. 20 benefit in New York City that will aid victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Dubbed "From the Big Apple to the Big Easy," the event comprises simultaneous concerts at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall that will feature a mix of New Orleans musicians and nationally known artists.

Simon & Garfunkel, Kravitz, John and Buffett are on the bill for the Madison Square Garden show, as are the Neville Brothers, Cyndi Lauper, Bette Midler, Diana Krall, Dixie Cups, Ry Cooder, Allen Toussaint, Buckwheat Zydeco, Clarence "Frogman" Henry, Dave Bartholomew, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Irma Thomas, Kermit Ruffins, The Meters, The Rebirth Brass Band and Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews.

Trey Anastasio, John Mayer Trio, Joss Stone, Tom Waits, The Meters, The Rebirth Brass Band, Galactic (with The Wild Magnolias Mardi Gras Indians) and Ray Lamontagne are lined up for the Radio City Music Hall concert.

Matthews plans to hit the stage at both shows.

Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster. More information is available at the event's website. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)

The Madison Square Garden concert will air live as pay-per-view telecast that will cost $19.95. Viewers should contact their cable or satellite provider to order the program.

Veteran television producer Ken Ehrlich--who has produced 25 Grammy Award telecasts, created and produced the "MTV Movie Awards" and "Divas," as well as numerous other specials, concerts and live events--will oversee the live broadcast.

All money raised from ticket sales, pay-per-view orders and sponsorships will go toward the relief and rebuilding efforts in the Gulf Coast region, according to organizers.
