Alice Cooper tour rolls through Halloween
Following shows with Cheap Trick Wednesday (9/14) and Friday (9/16) in El Cajon and Los Angeles, CA, respectively, Cooper will take a short break before launching his next leg of shows Sept. 27 in Florida. Currently, the costumed rocker's outing ends, fittingly, on Halloween.
Tickets for most shows are on sale now, and hard-core Cooper fans can purchase premium-ticket packages for a number of dates; details are available at Cooper's website.
Released on Aug. 2, "Dirty Diamonds" follows 2003's "Eyes of Alice Cooper."
"'Dirty Diamonds' sounds like Eyes of Alice Cooper with more polish on it," Cooper said in a statement. "On 'Eyes,' I wouldn't allow the band to do overdubs. We did everything in the studio: write, record it and put it to bed. I don't want a Queen album or a Def Leppard album that's perfectly recorded. They're terrific, you can't knock those albums, but that's not the sound I'm looking for. I'd much rather have the sound of an early Stones album."
Cooper--born Vincent Damon Furnier--has been cranking out albums since 1969, the year he issued "Pretties for You." He scored his first hit with the cut "Eighteen," featured on 1971's "Love It to Death."
