Briefly: Dave Matthews Band, Suge Knight, Kanye West
The Dave Matthews Band 's "VH1 Storytellers" concert, which was taped May 17 at Brooklyn, NY's BAM Harvey Theatre, debuts Sept. 13 on the cable-TV network.
According to a VH1 press release, the episode includes a mix of songs from the group's latest album, "Stand Up," and older material.
During the episode, members of the band also answer audience questions, and tell the stories behind the album's songs.
Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight, who was shot in the leg last week during a party in advance of the MTV Video Music Awards, reportedly was released from the hospital late last week. Further details haven't been released.
Rapper Kanye West went off-script during his Friday (9/2) appearance on NBC-TV's "A Concert for Hurricane Relief" telethon to blast President George W. Bush.
"George Bush doesn't care about black people," West said--a comment that aired live and uncensored in the East Coast, but was cut from later broadcasts.
The rest of West's statement was broadcast nationwide.
"I hate the way they portray us in the media," West said. "If you see a black family, it says they're looting. If you see a white family, they're looking for food."
