Briefly: Fats Domino, CBGB, Queens of the Stone Age, Luther Vandross

Rock-and-roll pioneer Antoine "Fats" Domino, who had been missing in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina's devastation of the area, has reportedly been rescued.

On Thursday (9/2), one of Domino's daughters reportedly said that a man shown in a New Orleans Times-Picayune photo being rescued by boat from the floodwaters was her father.

Domino, a New Orleans native, has not been heard from since telling his agent on Sunday (8/28) that he, his wife and their daughter planned to remain in their New Orleans home to ride out the hurricane.

Hilly Kristal, owner of famed New York City nightclub CBGB, reportedly plans to continue his court battle with the venue's landlord, who has decided against renewing the club's lease in the wake of a years-long battle over the club's monthly rent.

CBGB's lease with the Bowery Residents' Committee (BRC), a nonprofit homeless-services agency, expired at midnight on Wednesday (8/31). Earlier this month, the club won a brief victory against the BRC when a Manhattan Civil Court judge ruled that the club did not owe back rent, and denied BRC's request to evict the club.

Founded in 1973, CBGB helped launch the careers of such groups as The Ramones and Talking Heads.

Queens of the Stone Age canceled their Tuesday (8/30) performance in Stuggart, Germany, after frontman Josh Homme collapsed following the group's Monday (8/29) show in Hamburg. The singer, who forged ahead with the tour despite undergoing knee surgery less than a week before the outing launched, was "diagnosed with exhaustion and ordered to bed by a local doctor," according to the group's website.

The band has two dates remaining on its European trek, and is scheduled to support Nine Inch Nails during a North American arena run that kicks off Sept. 16 in San Diego. No word yet if any of the aforementioned shows will be affected by Homme's condition.
