Dolly Parton fills blanks in tour schedule
The itinerary for Dolly Parton 's recently launched North American tour has more than doubled in size, and will keep the country icon on the road for much of what's left of 2005.
A slew of new September, October and November stops have filled many of the gaps in Parton's schedule, which stretches into early December. Details are shown below.
Included in the itinerary is a Sept. 24-25 engagement at Dollywood, Parton's theme park in Pigeon Forge, TN, where she's scheduled to play two shows each day. The performances are billed as benefits, proceeds from which will be directed to the Dollywood Foundation's Imagination Library Program, according to the Dollywood website.
Parton's roadtrip kicked off with an Aug. 16 performance at New York City's Radio City Music Hall, during which she sang several songs from her forthcoming album, "Those Were the Days." Scheduled for release on Oct. 11, the set features guest appearances from Keith Urban, Nickel Creek, Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Norah Jones, Lee Ann Womack, Kris Kristofferson, Cat Stevens and others.
Parton will hype the album with an Oct. 13 performance on ABC's "Good Morning America."
