Tim McGraw, others to appear on hurricane relief telethon

Tim McGraw , Harry Connick Jr., Wynton Marsalis and others with ties to the Gulf Coast region will appear during a live, nationwide telecast this week to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina, according to the NBC Universal Television group.

The hour-long program will air at 8 p.m. Friday (9/2) on the NBC, MSNBC and CNBC networks.

Matt Lauer will host the telethon, which will be broadcast from New York City.

The program will encourage viewers to donate money in support of hurricane relief through the Red Cross website or the donation hotline 1-800-HELP NOW.
