Thrice leads North American theater trek

Warped Tour veterans Thrice have lined up a major theater tour in support of their forthcoming album "Vheissu," due in stores Oct. 18.

The tour--the first half of which has been confirmed--kicks off Oct. 4 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, and includes multiple-night stands in San Diego, Atlanta, the Phoenix area and Los Angeles, where the first leg wraps up.

"Vheissu" was produced by Steve Osborne, who previously worked with U2, Doves and Peter Gabriel. Thrice--guitarist/vocalist Dustin Kensrue, guitarist Teppei Teranishi, bassist Eddie Breckenridge and drummer Riley Breckenridge--based the album on a loose collection of arcane myths found in the 1963 novel "V." by Thomas Pynchon, according to a press release.

Each time Thrice releases an album, its members donate funds to a charity. For "Vheissu," the group formed a partnership with 826 Valencia, a tutorial program designed to help underprivileged students ages 8-18 to improve their communications skills.

Thrice will be joined on the outing by fellow Warped Tour participants The Bled, from Tucson, AZ, as well as Underoath and Veda.

The Bled--guitarist Jeremy Ray Talley, drummer Mike Pedicone, vocalist James Munoz, and bassist Darren "HeyGuy" Simoes--will release "Found in the Flood" on Tuesday (8/23). Produced by Mark Trombino (Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World), "Found in the Flood" is the band's first release on Vagrant Records.

Florida natives Underoath released "They're Only Chasing Safety" last June, while the ethereal Kansas City, MO-based Veda released "The Weight of an Empty Room" in July.
