Live books shows, readies new album
The latest studio set from modern-rock quartet Live will hit stores in November, but the band plans to keep its chops up in the meantime with some late-summer and early fall concerts.
Titled "Songs from Black Mountain," the new album is expected to surface in mid-November, and its first single, "The River," is due to hit radio stations during the third week of September, according to Live's website.
The album will be Live's first collection of new material since 2003's "Birds of Pray," and follows last year's "Awake: The Best of Live."
"Without revealing too much, I will say its a new direction for our band and I really hope it's well received," guitarist Chad Taylor said of "Songs from Black Mountain" in a recent message posted at his website.
Taylor went on to say that the band plans to shoot a music video for "The River" this month.
Meanwhile, the group is scheduled to play a handful concerts in the coming weeks, at which fans can expect to get an early earful of material from "Songs from Black Mountain," which the group has been road-testing during its recent shows.
