The artist formerly known as P. Diddy--and Puff Daddy and Sean "Puffy" Combs--now says he wants to be known simply as Diddy.

Combs promised MTV News that "the unveiling of Diddy" would take place when he hosts the Aug. 28 MTV Video Music Awards.

"I felt like the 'P' was getting between me and my fans, and now we're closer," Diddy said on Tuesday's (8/16) "Today Show." "During concerts, half the crowd is saying 'P. Diddy,' half the crowd is chanting 'Diddy.' Now everybody can just chant 'Diddy.'"

"Chapter 5," Massachusetts-based Staind [ tickets ]'s fifth album, sold 185,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to land the rockers their third consecutive No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 chart.

The hits compilation "NOW! That's What I Call Music Vo. 19" holds steady at No. 2 on the chart, while Faith Hill [ tickets ]'s "Fireflies"--last week's No. 1 album--slides to No. 3.

Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" falls one rung to No. 4, while Black Eyed Peas' "Monkey Business" rounds out the Top 5.

What was to be the final date on this year's Ozzfest [ tickets ] tour--a rescheduled Sept. 10 gig at Float Rite Park in Somerset, WI--has been called off.

The show was originally scheduled to take place Aug. 7, but was rescheduled because vocal problems are preventing Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne from performing on consecutive nights.

"[The cancellation] is because some of the artists set to perform at the Aug. 7 date were ultimately unable to alter their previous commitments to accommodate the new routing," said a statement issued by the tour's publicist. "Ozzfest organizers felt it was best to cancel the show instead of mounting anything less than a spectacular event, as fans have come to expect from the festival over the course of ten years."

Black Sabbath may embark on a headlining tour of Canada in early 2006, and may add a Minneapolis-area show to its itinerary at that time, according to a press release.

Though Eminem has pulled out of the European leg of the Anger Management 3 tour, co-headliner 50 Cent [ tickets ] is planning to embark on his own tour this fall. Dates and venues "are still to be determined," according to a press release.
