Beck announces long-awaited North American tour

Beck has finally announced plans for a full-blown North American tour, five months after the release of his latest album, "Guero."

The singer-songwriter has taken an unorthodox path since the album hit stores in March, playing a scattershot schedule including West Coast gigs, Japanese festivals and impromptu jam sessions.

Beck's fall slate kicks off with a Sept. 19 appearance in Minneapolis, and wraps up Oct. 8 in Camden, NJ. Tickets for his nine newly announced dates go on sale Saturday (8/13), and more shows could materialize soon, his publicist said.

Along the way, Beck will find time to co-headline (with Oasis, The Killers and the Pixies) the Oct. 2 Across the Narrows Festival in Brooklyn, NY, as well as open three shows for The Rolling Stones on their North American tour.

Officially Beck's 10th full-length release, "Guero" debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and has already sold more than 623,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
