Juliana Theory sets tour dates around album release
Indie-rockers The Juliana Theory are gearing up for a late-summer tour, during which they'll drop their latest album, "Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat."
The Pennsylvania-based quintet kicks things off on their home turf in late August, and will take a swing through the Eastern U.S. and Canada before winding up back in Pennsylvania for a late-September finale in Pittsburgh. Details are shown below.
The group will warm up for the outing with an Aug. 6 performance at the Rolling Rock Town Fair, which is also set in Pennsylvania.
Fans can expect to hear the band perform some cuts featured on "Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat," which is scheduled for release on Sept. 13. The set follow's 2002's "Love."
"We've been rotating the same 20-25 songs in our live show for the past three years," vocalist Brett Detar said in a statement. "On this tour, we're going to break out some songs from the new album for the first time. We are excited to finally let some of these cats out of the bag."
Detar, in a recent posting on the band's website said that his group is anxious to get the new album in stores.
"We are extremely excited to finally drop this thing," Detar wrote. "It seems like the entire process of writing, demoing, writing again, demoing some more, recording, mixing, mixing again, and mastering has taken way too much time. We've been at it forever, but our fourth baby will soon be born. We're proud of this little guy and we cannot wait for you all to check it out. This is the most cohesive and direct set of songs we've ever put together for a record. It's the fastest, most energetic, and urgent record we've ever made and it's bursting at the thought of finally being heard."
"Deadbeat Sweetheart" will be Detar and company's inaugural set for their newly founded record label, Paper Fist Recordings.
