My Chemical Romance gears up for first headlining tour
Rockers My Chemical Romance are mapping plans for their inaugural headlining tour, which will also feature Alkaline Trio , as well as Reggie & the Full Effect .
The outing is set to take place this fall, and will make stops in 28 cities, according to a press release. Dates and venues have not yet been confirmed, but a preliminary list of cities where the trek will touch down is included below.
The tour supports My Chemical Romance's sophomore set, "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge." Released in June of 2004, the album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart.
The group's headlining run follows its current stint on the annual Vans Warped Tour.
Earlier this week, My Chemical Romance racked up nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards in the Best Rock Video, Best New Artist in a Video, MTV2 Award and Best Choreography in a Video categories, all for the music video for the "Three Cheers" cut "Helena." The ceremony is scheduled to air on Aug. 28.
Alkaline Trio is backing its latest release, "Crimson," which surfaced in May. The group wraps up its own U.S. headlining run on Sunday, then heads to Europe before returning home to link up with My Chemical Romance.
"Songs Not to Get Married To," Reggie & the Full Effect's fourth album, hit stores in March.
