Dar Williams hits the road ahead of new album
Folk singer Dar Williams has announced a slew of live dates for the rest of the summer and into the fall in advance of her new album, "My Better Self," due in late August on Razor & Tie Records.
Williams--whose last release was 2003's "The Beauty and the Rain"--will hit the road on July 22 in Amagansett, NY, and weave a path through the U.S. that stretches through early next April.
"The Beauty and the Rain" featured a large number of guest performers, ranging from pianist Bela Fleck to singer Alison Krauss. "My Better Self" will continue the trend, featuring contributions from Soulive, Patty Larkin and Marshall Crenshaw, among others.
Williams spent the better part of the last year promoting "Amalee," a novel written for young readers. It was her first book.
She recently appeared on the Air America radio network's "Liberal Arts" program, performing an acoustic set of material spanning her career.
