Briefly: Kelly Clarkson, Brian McKnight, The Band, Stephen Bruton
Kelly Clarkston has postponed two concerts due to the severe weather conditions caused by Hurricane Dennis.
According to her official website, Clarkson's Sunday (7/10) performance in New Orleans and her Tuesday (7/12) show at Florida's Pensacola Civic Center will be rescheduled; new dates hadn't been announced at press time.
R&B artist Brian McKnight has been tapped to sing the national anthem prior to Tuesday's (7/12) Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Comerica Park in Detroit.
McKnight will also be joined by The Winans for a rendition of "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch.
" The Band : A Musical History," which contains five CDs and a DVD that span the history of the group, is set for release on Sept. 27. The collection includes 111 audio and video tracks, including 27 previously unreleased recordings and film clips, as well as a 108-page hardcover book.
Group member Robbie Robertson was the set's executive producer.
Stephen Bruton 's fifth album, "From the Five," is due in stores July 26. Though Bruton is an acclaimed producer, he turned over production duties on the set to Ross Hogarth (Gov't Mule, Ziggy Marley).
"It's kind of like the old adage that a doctor can’t operate on himself," Bruton said in a press release.
