Travis Tritt keeps touring despite split from label
Friction between Travis Tritt and Columbia Records has left the country veteran without a label, but that won't stop him from spending the coming months on the road.
Tritt has lined up a stretch of North American shows that kicks off in mid-July and runs into October; a lone December date is also confirmed. Details are included below.
The roadwork ostensibly supports Tritt's most recent album, last year's "My Honky Tonk History," which is his third--and, apparently, final--release for Columbia Records.
"Despite releasing the most highly-praised release of his storied career, Travis differed with [Columbia parent-company] Sony on the project's direction, leading to the split," reads a message posted at the singer's website. "Travis still maintains an exhaustive tour schedule running through year's end."
Released last August, "My Honky Tonk History" features "What Say You," a duet with John Mellencamp; "Gone Too Far to Turn Around," which Tritt co-wrote with Gretchen Wilson, who also sings backup on the cut; "The Girl's Gone Wild"; and latest single, "I See Me," which is streaming at Tritt's website, as is the song's music video.
