Briefly: Live 8, Corey Clark, Dandy Warhols, Paula Frazer
Toby Keith , Alicia Keys and The Black Eyed Peas are the latest additions to the Philadelphia Live 8 concert.
The July 2 show is one of a series of concerts that day spearheaded by Live Aid founder Bob Geldof to raise awareness of poverty in Africa.
Corey Clark , the "American Idol" contestant best known for claiming to have had an affair with Paula Abdul (a judge on the Fox-TV talent show), was cited Saturday (6/27) morning in Sacramento on a misdemeanor battery charge.
Police said that Clark and Laura Kathleen Troy, a record-company manager, got into an argument in a room at Sacramento's Sheraton Grand Hotel, and were loud enough to prompt guests to call police.
When they entered the room, police found that Clark and Troy both had scratches on their arms and that there were broken dishes strewn about.
Clark had performed the night before at Raley Field, a minor-league ballpark in nearby West Sacramento.
The Dandy Warhols will release their fifth album, "Odditorium or Warlords of Mars," on Sept. 13. It will be their first new studio set since 2003's "Welcome to the Monkey House."
The new album was produced by frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor with longtime band collaborator Gregg Williams, and mixed by Tchad Blake (Elvis Costello, Latin Playboys) and Taylor-Taylor.
Paula Frazer will release her sixth album, "Leave the Sad Things Behind," in September. Frazer recorded her first three albums under the moniker Tarnation, enlisting a rotating cast of backing musicians.
