Jimmy Buffett draws a pair of Las Vegas appearances

Jimmy Buffett , who completed a string of June amphitheater dates over the weekend, recently beefed up his itinerary with two stops at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Buffett continues to back his latest album, last year's "License To Chill," which features guest appearances by several country artists, including Kenny Chesney, George Strait and Toby Keith. Included on the set is a cover of Hank Williams' "Hey Good Lookin'" (featuring Clint Black, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and George Strait) and follow-up single "Trip Around the Sun" (featuring Martina McBride).

He'll be back on the road in late August, when he opens a run that takes him to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Chicago. The Las Vegas shows are set for Oct. 22 and 29; tickets are on sale now.

In related news, at least seven people were taken to area hospitals with heat-related illnesses during Buffett's Sunday (6/26) performance at Pittsburgh's PNC Park, according to local news reports. Temperatures reached the low '90s in the region; none of the illnesses appeared to be serious.
