Sigur Ros to tackle North American theater circuit
Though there's still no official word on the status of a follow-up album to 2002's unpronounceably titled "( )," Icelandic experimental rockers Sigur Ros have mapped a world tour that includes a month-long North American trek.
The tour's North American leg launches Sept. 6 in Atlanta, and will visit 20 cities. An August stop in Hawaii is also scheduled, coming on the heels of the band's Australian trek. Sigur Ros' international itinerary is posted at the band's website.
Following the release of the critically acclaimed "( )," Sigur Ros released the three-song EP "Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do." According to the band's website, a new album was completed in December. A fall release-date is expected, but hasn't been confirmed.
Sigur Ros' profile got a huge boost when Radiohead's Thom Yorke cited the group as an influence for Radiohead's 2000 album, "Kid A."
