Tori Amos takes piano on the road this summer
Tori Amos will tickle the ivories for audiences throughout North America during a late-summer tour that backs her latest album, "The Beekeeper."
Dubbed the "Summer of Sin" tour, the run launches in the South in early August, and is currently scheduled to wrap up on the West Coast in mid-September. At press time, venues had not been confirmed for several cities. Details are included in the itinerary below.
Amos has tapped The Ditty Bops and Imogen Heap to open, according to her website.
Released in February, "The Beekeeper" is Amos' ninth album, and follows her 2003 best-of compilation, the two-disc "Tales of a Librarian." The singer/songwriter/pianist self-produced the new set in her U.K. studio with help from her longtime partners, drummer Matt Chamberlain and bassist Jon Evans.
Earlier this month, Amos released exclusively via Apple's iTunes Music Store a four-song live EP. Dubbed "Live Session," the collection includes live renditions of "The Beekeeper" cuts "Sleeps with Butterflies" and "The Power of Orange Knickers."
Amos rose to fame with her 1992, platinum breakthrough, "Little Earthquakes." Over the course of her career, she has sold a total of more than 12 million albums, according to Epic Records.
