Green Day tacks more stops onto upcoming trek

Northern California punk-rockers Green Day have added several cities to their North American itinerary in the wake of last month's initial tour announcement.

Cities the trio is now scheduled to visit include Phoenix, Boston and Las Vegas, among others. Jimmy Eat World will open all dates; the full itinerary as of press time is below.

The North American outing--which gets underway Aug. 10 in the Chicago area--is booked into a mix of stadiums, amphitheaters and arenas.

Green Day continues to ride the success of 2004's "American Idiot," which took this year's Grammy for Best Rock Album. The album entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 last September, and after more than 37 weeks in stores, the triple-platinum set currently sits at No. 23.

The band recently completed a fall tour of North America, and will tour Europe this summer. (European dates are posted on the band's website.)
