Marc Broussard lays out summer tour plans
Singer/songwriter Marc Broussard keeps up his support for last year's "Carencro" with another round of live shows.
Broussard's itinerary kicks off June 1 in Portland, OR, and dates are scattered into August. Plans include three July stops in Florida, during which he'll open for the Dave Matthews Band. Details are included below.
Before launching the run, Broussard is scheduled to perform on this Saturday's (5/28) edition of CBS's "The Saturday Early Show," according to his website.
In September, Broussard sets sail aboard a music-themed voyage dubbed "The Rock Boat Cruise." Other acts booked for the excursion include O.A.R., Sister Hazel, Cowboy Mouth, The Clarks, Matt Nathanson, Ari Hest and more. Details are available at the cruise's website.
Released last August, "Carencro"--which takes its name from Broussard's hometown in Louisiana--is the follow-up to his 2002 debut, an EP titled "Momentary Setback." Broussard co-wrote all of the songs on the new album with some help from contributors such as Martin Sexton, Radney Foster and Jay Joyce.
As was the case on "Momentary Setback," Broussard's father, Ted--with whom Broussard began performing at age 5--plays guitar on "Carencro."
Three "Carencro" cuts--"Home," "Rocksteady" and "Let Me Leave"--are streaming at Broussard's MySpace webpage.
