Gavin DeGraw rides 'Chariot' through the U.S.

Singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw stays busy this summer with a mix of headlining shows, festival performances and opening stints with The Allman Brothers Band and Avril Lavigne.

DeGraw tackles a number of festival shows through the end of July, as well as some headlining dates and shows in support of the Allmans.

He'll then spend most of August on the road with Lavigne. Details are shown in the itinerary below.

DeGraw continues to back his debut album, "Chariot." Originally released in 2003, the set was re-released last July. The newer edition includes the bonus CD "Stripped," which houses acoustic versions of all of the cuts on "Chariot," as well as a cover of the Sam Cooke classic "Change Is Gonna Come."

DeGraw and his band recorded the bonus disc at New York City's Dumbo Studios during a "private midnight recording session," and DeGraw laid down all of the vocal tracks in one take, according to a press release.

"Chariot" includes the cut "I Don't Want to Be"--the theme song for the WB television-network's drama "One Tree Hill"--as well as the title track. The music video for the latter song is streaming at DeGraw's website.

On May 26, DeGraw is scheduled to perform "Chariot" on "Live with Regis and Kelly," according to his website.
